COPPA and FERPA

At Cram Jams, we are dedicated to safeguarding the privacy and security of all users. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and we design our platform to avoid collecting or processing any student personal information.

COPPA Compliance

COPPA requires special protections for children under 13. Cram Jams complies with COPPA by not collecting any personal information from children and by designing our student-access pages to operate without cookies, tracking technologies, analytics tools, or identifiers.

Students do not create accounts. Instead, teachers access the site and may share anonymous, view-only links with students. These links automatically disable all analytics, advertising, and tracking functionality.

The only individuals who create accounts on Cram Jams are teachers or school administrators, and the information collected from them is strictly limited to what is necessary for account management and subscription access.

FERPA Compliance

FERPA governs student education records. Cram Jams is not a custodian of any student education records and does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) about students.

Our platform is designed so that:

  • No student data is stored or transmitted
  • No student identifiers are created
  • No cookies or tracking technologies run on student-facing lesson pages
  • Vimeo videos are embedded with Do Not Track (dnt=1) enabled to prevent viewer data collection

Because no student data is handled, FERPA’s data-management requirements do not apply; however, we voluntarily meet FERPA-aligned security best practices.

Cookie Usage

Cram Jams uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking tools on any student-facing content, including lesson pages and video pages accessed via teacher-shared links.

On teacher-facing administrative pages, we use minimal, functional cookies required for secure login and account management. Marketing or analytics cookies (e.g., for ad attribution) are used only on general marketing pages and are never active in student-access areas.

Our Commitment to Privacy

We are committed to ongoing compliance with all applicable privacy laws, including COPPA, FERPA, and relevant state student-data privacy requirements. All data transmitted through our platform is protected with HTTPS encryption. Cram Jams uses Cloudflare solely for secure content delivery and firewall protection—no Cloudflare analytics or advertising features are enabled.

For any questions regarding privacy, security, COPPA, FERPA, or data usage, please contact us at [email protected].
